National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP)
Lose weight, Build New Habits
The Diabetes prevention program (DPP) is a year-long lifestyle change program designed for those at risk for type 2 diabetes. If you lose 5-10% of their body weight, through diet and lifestyle changes you can prevent the onset of type 2 diabetes.
The CDC’s DPP program is based on clinical research, indicating that participants who completed the CDC’s DPP program had a 58% risk reduction for developing type 2 diabetes.

Why Should You Join?
Participant experience
One in three adults in Mississippi are at risk for Type 2 diabetes. YOU COULD BE ONE!
Prediabetes means your blood glucose (also called blood sugar) levels are higher than normal. When your blood glucose levels reach a certain level, you have diabetes. ... The good news is that type 2 Diabetes can be prevented! Research shows that people with prediabetes and those at high risk could significantly reduce their risk of diabetes by making modest lifestyle changes–lose 5-7% body weight and be physically active at least 150 minutes a week (at least 5 days, 30 minutes of moderate physical activity).
