CDC rolls out Umbrella model to expand the National Diabetes Prevention Program

The National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is an evidence-based program developed by the Centers for Disease Control that provides year-long sessions of behavioral and nutritional counseling in a group setting. Successful participation in DPP is proven to reduce an individual’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes by half. Currently, thousands of community organizations offer National Diabetes Prevention Programs to their communities. Most of these classes are held in-person and this prog
